Why Choose an NICEIC Contractor?

Approved Contractor

NICEIC Approved Contractors are assessed on a regular basis to the highest standards covering all types of electrical work including, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of commercial, industrial and domestic electrical installations.

Domestic Installer

The NICEIC Domestic Installer scheme covers contractors who do installation work in domestic properties.  It is important to use a Domestic Installer to comply with the requirements of Part P.

Building compliance certificate check

Since Part P of the Building Regulations in England & Wales was introduced in 2005, all electrical installation work in a home, garden, conservatory or outbuilding must meet the Building Regulations and failure to comply with Part P could be a criminal offence.

Certain types of electrical work must either be reported before being started to the local building control body, or be carried out by a registered electrical contractor who will notify the work on completion. To understand what work is notifiable click here.

All electrical installation work, including notifiable work by electrical contractors should be checked and certified as part of the job to ensure that the work carried out complies with the Building Regulations. When using a registered electrical contractor, you do not need to notify your Local Building Control Body in advance, as the electrical contractor will do this when the work is finished.

Why use an Expert Installer to fit your alarms?

Expert Installer is a training scheme run by Aico to ensure Electrical Contractors have all the information they need to install domestic Fire and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Systems. Our Expert Installer training scheme is CPD accredited.

During Expert Installer training to contractors, we go through the latest Regulations and Legislation to ensure that installers know which alarms to install and where. They are trained in our latest technologies to ensure that they know what will best suit your needs. Finally, all of the installers are trained in how to correctly install our alarms, providing you with a professional installation.
